Comprehensive Standard 3.7.4
The institution ensures adequate procedures for the safeguard and protection of academic freedom.

LSUA fully subscribes to the concept of academic freedom. Academic
freedom is described as a right and responsibility of faculty in the
Bylaws & Regulations of the Board of Supervisors of the LSU System
(Article VIII, Section 1) [1] and in Section III (p.1) of the LSUA Faculty Handbook [2] . This commitment is reinforced by LSUA’s Policy Statement 213 (Professional Ethics) [3] .
In the event a faculty member believes that he or she has suffered
an infringement of his/her academic freedom, a grievance process is
provided. The faculty grievance process is fully described in the
Faculty Handbook (Section V) [4] .
