Comprehensive Standard 3.7.5
The institution publishes policies on the responsibility and authority of faculty in academic and governance matters.

The roles, responsibilities, and authority of the faculty in academic
and governance matters are addressed in the Bylaws & Regulations of
the Board of Supervisors of the LSU System. Part I, Article VIII [1] of that document addresses faculty duties and responsibility. Part II, Chapter 1 [2]
of the same document addresses membership, duties, and areas of
authority, which are generally described as determining educational
policy. This document is available to all faculty in the Chancellor’s
office or via the website of the LSU System. At LSUA, the Constitution of the Faculty Council and Faculty Senate [3]
provides the general background and structure for the overall role of
faculty in academic and governance matters. The Constitution is
included in the LSUA Faculty Handbook (Section V). Section III of the
Faculty Handbook [4] also addresses these
issues. The Faculty Handbook is provided to all full-time faculty and
is available on the LSUA website. In addition, there are several policy
statements related to faculty responsibilities also included in the
Faculty Handbook. These include:
Policy Statement 209 [5] - Teaching Load Policy Policy Statement 213 [6] - Professional Ethics Policy Statement 218 [7] - Grades and Grading Policy Statement 225 [8] - Planning and Assessment Policy Statement 231 [9] - Faculty Office Hours Policy Statement 238 [10] - Faculty Workloads Policy Statement 240 [11] - Guidelines for Syllabi Preparation Policy Statement 246 [12] - Faculty Participation in Commencement
