The institution’s policies are clear concerning ownership of materials,
compensation, copyright issues, and the use of revenue derived from the
creation and production of all intellectual property. This applies to
students, faculty and staff.

LSUA employees are subject to the LSU System policy on Intellectual
Property, which is published as Part II, Chapter VII in the Bylaws
& Regulations of the Board of Supervisors of the LSU System [1] .
This policy covers such issues as discoveries, inventions, patents,
copyrights, computer software and databases, digital media, and
distributable royalties. Guidelines for the application of this policy
are established in the LSU System Permanent Memorandum 64 (LSU
Intellectual Property – Distribution of Royalties and Other Matters) [2] . PM 64 and the Bylaws & Regulations are available on the LSU System website.
Prior to employment, all applicable LSUA employees acknowledge their
understanding of and their willingness to abide by these guidelines [3] .
