Federal Requirement 4.1
When evaluating success with respect to student achievement in relation
to the institution’s mission, the institution includes, as appropriate,
consideration of course completion, state licensing examinations, and
job placement rates.

Course Completion
Each semester, LSUA produces a Grade Distribution Report [1]
which shows all grades in each credit course, including non-passing
grades and withdrawals. These reports are used by academic
administrators for general course review purposes and for issues which
may arise that require a comparison of course completion and/or grade
distribution among select courses.
State Licensing Examinations
Some departments (Allied Health, Education, and Nursing) offer
programs that lead to professional licensure. The performance of
program completers on the appropriate licensure exam is tracked and
used by department faculty as part of their program and course review
process. For example, LSUA’s nursing program is the oldest such program
at the university and passage rates of graduates on the licensure exam,
NCLEX, are regularly reported in the LSUA Fact Book [2] .
Job Placement Rates
The same departments offering professional preparation (Allied
Health, Education, and Nursing) all track job placement rates via
surveys of graduates [3] plus follow-up surveys of employers [4] .
Job placement and employer satisfaction information are used by
department faculty as part of their ongoing program and course review [5] .
Additional tracking of placement in jobs or graduate/professional
school is planned for graduates of LSUA’s new bachelor programs.
